Things seem to be scattered around forum posts, knowledge base articles, or behind a wall of reverse engineering and poking. It’s been difficult to find a central repository of information around how to migrate, what the options are and how to deploy and configure ESET. In fact, ESET are granting anyone wishing to switch a year’s subscription for free, which is nice. To read more about the 2020 Radicati Market Quadrant: Endpoint Security, please click here, and to read more about ESET’s Endpoint Security solutions, please click here.Following Microsoft’s announcement that System Centre Endpoint Protection (SCEP) for macOS and Linux is to be discontinued by the end of this year, their recommended migration path is to switch to ESET Cyber Security. As the endpoint security market continues to grow, we are committed to developing reliable and easily deployable security for organizations of all shapes and sizes.” Being acknowledged as a Top Player for the third year in a row is demonstrative of ESET’s ability to stay innovative and provide the best possible technology solutions for our customers. Juraj Malcho, ESET’s Chief Technology Officer, said “We are incredibly proud to be ranked as a Top Player in Radicati’s 2020 Endpoint Security Market Quadrant. They were also commended for their suitability to offer protection for companies with heterogeneous environments. ESET’s positioning as a ‘Top Player’ for the third year in a row demonstrates the company’s pioneering and innovative nature as the Radicati report states that once a company reaches this stage, they must fight complacency and continue to innovate.ĮSET’s Endpoint Security solutions were highlighted as offering high performance and high detection rates, low footprint with low system resource usage and for their ease of deployment and use. ‘Top Players’ shape the market with their technology and strategic vision. In Radicati’s 2020 Endpoint Security Market Quadrant, ‘Top Players’ are described as the current market leaders with products that offer both breadth and depth of functionality, as well as possessing a solid vision for the future. Radicati also evaluates according to key capabilities including malware detection, web and email security, encryption, mobile device protection, data loss prevention and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR). Radicati positions vendors in a quadrant according to two criteria: functionality and strategic vision. In fact, the Endpoint Security market is expected to surpass $8.2 billion in 2020 and grow to over $15.6 billion by 2024. This Quadrant continues to grow in importance with the endpoint security market experiencing growth at an exponential rate, as organizations of all sizes deploy increasingly sophisticated and feature-rich solutions to help protect against threats and malicious attacks. Endpoint security shares threat intelligence feeds and policy controls with all other major security components, including firewalls, secure web gateways, secure email gateways, data loss prevention (DLP), and more. As pointed out in the report, organizations no longer view endpoint security as an isolated discipline affecting only the endpoint, but as an integral part of organization-wide defense. The Radicati Market Quadrant is a metric used to paint a picture of a specific technology market, with this edition covering Endpoint Security – comprising of appliances, software, cloud services, and hybrid solutions that help to secure and manage endpoints for business organizations of all sizes. The report examines 17 leading endpoint security vendors in the market, assessing their functionality and strategic vision, within which ESET was placed in the top quadrant for the third year in a row. BRATISLAVA – ESET, a global cyber security leader, has been recognized as a ‘Top Player’ for the third year in a row in Radicati’s 2020 Endpoint Security Market Quadrant.

1/26/2024 0 Comments Mini vmac autolaunchI could have just forced the value to "08" but the value:mask approach is more general. So we see that the value "09" was modified by the value:mask "00:01" and became the value "08". Adding the "-v" flag produces verbose output: Here, I set the least-significant bit to zero. Easy to follow tutorial on choosing which apps and programs can auto-launch on startup on Macbook & MAC. Instead of clearing the entire register by setting the value to zero, one can set arbitrary bits using the value:mask feature of setpci. So I made one tweak to the invocation of setpci. I don't know what bit three does but I'd rather not find out the hard way :-). Here we see that it was "09", which is binary 1001. This worked for me on a Mac Mini 6,2 using method 2: I used Ubuntu 14.04 on a DVD to run setpci.īefore making the change I checked the existing value: Once that has been enabled, you can then perform your ESXi installation. If you already have OS X install on your Mac Mini, then you just need open up the System Preferences and enable auto startup under the Energy Saver section. YMMV depending on your hardware and/or firmware. Note: I have heard that historically the auto startup flag has not persisted in older Apple hardware, but for the new Mac Mini 5,3 and 6,2, they seem to be persisting without any issue from my testing. I finally got a chance to look into this a bit more for myself and with a bit of research, I found several other methods which also works and may potentially be easier. Convenience methods return objects that have had autorelease called on them. Several folks from the VMTN community such as zippytiff and twuhabro have already confirmed having success using the latter option when booting OS X off a USB or SD card to modify the energy saving settings. Small leaks may not have a great effect on your app's performance. Normally to enable this feature you can either run a setpci command on UNIX/Linux system or configure the energy saver settings in OS X. The challenge arises when you are running ESXi, how do you go about enabling this functionality in ESXi itself? Well the answer is actually quite simple, you can enable this outside of ESXi. Automatically starting up after a power failure is not a new feature of the Mac Mini and it actually exists on most modern day systems and can be configured using a variety of tools. This is extremely useful for situations where power is eventually restored and you are not physically around to press the power button. Never used it personally before.I recently came across a very useful tidbit after receiving several inquires asking how to configure an Apple Mac Mini to automatically startup after a power failure. ClusterTruck is a chaotic physics based truckformer. ĭISCLOSURE NOTICE:, LLC was allowed access to the Cluster Truck office and kitchen space for the purpose of taking photographs and providing coverage of the launch of this new delivery service. More to come…stay tuned! For more information, visit. So if what I saw today is any indication of what’s to come, then I predict we’re about to see a significant paradigm shift on the culinary scene in Indianapolis. I’d compare ClusterTruck’s wide quantity of menu items to, oh, let’s say that of Cheesecake Factory. The photos here are just a tiny sample of the company’s extensive forthcoming menu, which will be available soon. In the meantime, it was intriguing to visit the company’s headquarters today and witness a very vibrant atmosphere with a lot of creative and intelligent thinking, planning, and strategizing going on among the participants. The official launch party is set for March 31, 2016. In my mind this service will be ideal for downtown businesses, office staff meetings, even perhaps for those who are getting off work and heading to their kids’ athletic events (and don’t have time to stop for dinner). In one sense, it is not unlike the typical pizza delivery model, except that ClusterTruck will offer a much wider variety of quality menu choices from pizza and tacos to salads to burgers and many more delicious specialty items–all cooked and prepared fresh after you order ONLINE, and then your order will be quickly delivered in the company’s delivery area–with free delivery, no less. The delivery service is managed by custom computer software that links available drivers to the online ordering system. There is no restaurant onsite you will order online and a driver will bring it to you a.s.a.p. The menu items will be prepared in a high tech kitchen by real chefs, then delivered to your business or location within minutes by one of ClusterTruck’s numerous contracted drivers. So whereas an individual food truck might never be able to practically deliver to your place of business, ClusterTruck can. It’s almost like a consignment sale: the food truck licenses its menu item(s) to ClusterTruck, then gets paid each time a sale of that item is made. The menu features MANY items developed by food truck owners and licensed to the company, hence the name “ClusterTruck.” Food truck owners will receive a small percentage of each sale. With both office and kitchen space housed in a small commercial building near American Legion Mall, the intention of ClusterTruck is to provide fast delivery of hot meals to a delivery area within a 1-2 mile radius (at least to begin with–think Wholesale District and downtown Indy). I’ve been a big fan of the Indy food trucks for the past seven years this takes THAT concept to a whole new level. If you are not yet familiar with this concept spearheaded by local entrepreneur Chris Baggott, then I feel certain that you will be, because I’m confident that you’ll be hearing a LOT more about ClusterTruck in the coming days and weeks. I felt quite honored and privileged to be present on the inaugural day of this great and promising new meal delivery service! Today was the first day of beta delivery testing for ClusterTruck, a food-tech operation headquartered in downtown Indianapolis. 1/25/2024 0 Comments Marcopolo gudauriThere are 4 red runs and the rest of the trails are blue. There are just 2 black runs running off Mt Sadzele, fed by the lift of the same name. Gudauri offers 80km of groomed runs for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. Keep up to date with our latest adventures on the following channels Many hotels will also offer their own ski rental service. Rental shops such as Buru and Adrenaline will provide ski rental for around 35 GEL ($10) per day. There are a plethora of ski rental shops spread out around Gudauri, with the most situated in New Gudauri at the base of the Gondola. Expect to pay around 60 GEL ($20) per hour for a lesson. There are many ski instructors to choose from and for more information click here. One of the renowned ski schools is Vagabond which has an international team of instructors offering regular skiing lessons, right through to ski touring and private tours. Plus the views over the Jvari pass are stunning. However, a taxi ride or Marshrutka from Gudauri to Kobi won’t break the bank if you do miss the last lift. Some of the best ski touring of the area can be accessed from the Kobi valley region.īe aware that the closing time for the Gondola back up to Kobi pass from the Gudauri side is 4.30pm. However, once finished I hope Kobi will get a facelift. Kobi is a pretty uninspiring place at the moment with a massive tunnel being built close by. It also means that it is possible to find accommodation near Kobi or in Sioni and Stepantsminda, where prices are much cheaper than in Gudauri itself.Ī car would be required for this option though and skiing down to Kobi from Gudauri is not really an option yet. This has opened up some north facing terrain and even more side country. The new Kobi Gondola links Gudauri with Kobi, which is a town further up the valley towards Stepantsminda. However, the new 6 seat chairlifts and gondolas soon get you moving. In Gudauri there’s further expansion of the resort to come as it becomes more popular with locals and foreign visitors alike.īig queues are relatively rare in Gudauri, although it gets busy over the weekends and local holidays. There are 4 gondolas, 6 chairlifts and 4 button lifts. Gone are the days of rickety slow old 2 man chairlifts with long lift queues.Ĭurrently Gudauri has 14 ski lifts. European made, 6 seat chairlifts are commonplace and there is also a new gondola. Gudauri continues to invest in new modern ski lifts. We did notice a new tunnel being built which looks like it will send all this traffic under the mountain, however this is likely a few years from being complete. The Highway can get very busy with trucks heading to the border with Russia. There are other hotels dotted along the highway but these seem a bit isolated although some do offer free transfers to the lifts where necessary. Old Gudauri is a bit further down the mountain and centered around hotel Marco Polo and a new 6 seater Chairlift, which quickly takes skiers up into the heart of the ski area. For a dedicated ski holiday this is arguably the place to aim for to be close to the action both on and off the slopes. New Gudauri is very much a hub of new apartments and hotels with plenty of shops, ski hire outlets and restaurants, all within walking distance of the New Gondola lift at its core. There are several centres to the resort and most are very well connected to the lift system. It’s true to say that it’s not the most attractive ski resort by European standards, but is still very much a work in progress. Gudauri is spread out along the Georgian Military Highway which connects Mtskheta with Gudauri and Stepantsminda, on the way to the Russian border. You also book bus tickets online with Allbus. From one of the 2 bus stations in Tbilisi there are regular Marshrutka services to Gudauri. Marshrutka are local minibus services which run both in cities and beyond. Taxis are fairly cost effective for local journeys and self drive hire cars can be booked for airport collection and in major cities. It will be worth haggling with these guys. It is also easy to find a driver around the old town in Tbilisi. The easiest option to get to Gudauri by far, will be hiring a car with a driver (hopefully one who speaks your language) Check out gotrip.ge for a hassle free option with no haggling. The journey from Tbilisi to Gudauri is 120km will take around 2-3 hours, depending on how many trucks are travelling along the Military Highway. Recycling saves more energy and avoids more greenhouse gases than waste incineration/“chemical recycling.” Because energy is required to run waste incinerators, the net amount of energy generated through incineration is low or in some cases nonexistent-so even “waste to energy” is often a misnomer. And, composting organic materials directs nutrients and carbon back into the ground, where they increase soil health, reduce reliance on chemically-derived fertilizers, and improve water and nutrient retention. Paper, for example, can be recycled many times (on average, 7-12 times for higher quality paper types), each time with savings in energy, materials (trees), water, and pollution compared to creating paper from virgin material. This includes traditional mechanical recycling as well as organics recycling such as composting or anaerobic digestion. Each type of material in municipal solid waste has an ecologically optimal disposal/treatment route (meaning its most sustainable way of being discarded and processed), which is nearly always recycling. While some forms of chemical recycling may actually turn plastics back into plastics, in practice, most of the time “chemical recycling” is just a pathway to turn plastics into fuel. pyrolysis and other "conversion technologies” which create synthetic gas which is later burned). What we are actually talking about is burning: These processes inappropriately and ineffectively use mixed municipal solid waste as feedstock for incinerators or deferred incinerators (e.g. “Conversion technologies,” “chemical conversion,” and most forms of “advanced recycling” and “ chemical recycling” processes are not actual methods of recycling. has been responsible for 70-80% of dioxins found in the far North. A number of the emitted substances from waste incineration are considered the “worst of the worst”- persistent organic pollutants that do not break down, move across the globe, and build up in people and wildlife, harming their health. municipal solid waste incinerators situated in communities where more than 25% of people identify as “minority,” living below the federal poverty rate, or both.Īnd, the impacts are far-reaching as well. Often, low-income and communities of color bear the brunt of this toxic burden, with 80% of U.S. Studies find that proximity to waste incineration may increase risks of cancers, birth defects, and other adverse health impacts. These chemicals and pollutants enter the air, water and food supply near incinerators and get into people’s bodies when they breathe, drink, and eat contaminants. Toxic chemicals, such as PFAS and dioxins, which cause cancer and other health problems.Heavy metals such as lead and mercury, which cause neurological diseases.Air pollutants such as particulate matter, which cause lung and heart diseases.Regardless of what is being burned (mixed municipal solid waste, plastic, outputs from “ chemical recycling”), waste incineration creates and/or releases harmful chemicals and pollutants, including: These technologies are touted as being environmentally beneficial by various industries, but waste incineration-even if it’s masquerading as “chemical recycling”-is a false solution that Congress should firmly reject. One example is the bundle of troubling technologies that all involve waste incineration, such as “waste-to-energy" or many forms of “ chemical recycling” (processes frequently used to convert plastics into fuel that is then burned). While legislative action is welcome, Congress must avoid ideas disguised as environmental advances that actually threaten public health and the environment. Since the Biden administration took office, Congress is considering bills to fund infrastructure, tackle plastic pollution, and combat climate change. 1/25/2024 0 Comments Warp speed calculator"Einstein's theory of general relativity doesn't answer it." "We don't know the answer to that question yet," said Davis. The concern there is how to target the wormhole's exit. The is scalable … that's the beauty of it."ĭavis described a theoretical configuration of Ford-Svaiter mirrors that could enable FTL spaceflight: "For a traversable wormhole, it'll have to be separate Ford-Svaiter mirrors in an array to create the wormhole and then a ship with mirrors attached to it to extend the wormhole to the destination star." "You could have types of negative energy that could make a wormhole that you could put a person through and, if you make a bigger mirror, put a starship through. "When those fluctuations are confined there, they have a negative energy," said Davis. This is a theoretical device that would focus all the quantum vacuum fluctuations onto the mirror's focal line. Distorting these fluctuations can create negative energy.Īccording to Davis, one of the most promising methods for creating negative energy is called the Ford-Svaiter mirror. According to quantum theory, vacuum is full of electromagnetic fluctuations. This phenomenon revolves around the idea that vacuum, contrary to its portrayal in classical physics, isn't empty. Negative energy has been produced in a lab via what's called the Casimir effect. The next question is: how to create these spacetime distortions that will allow vessels to travel faster than light? It's believed - and certain preliminary experiments seem to confirm - that producing targeted amounts of what's called "negative energy" would achieve the desired effect. Sci-fi fans, for warp drives, think " Star Trek" and "Futurama." For wormholes, think "Stargate." In his paper, Davis describes a wormhole entrance as "a sphere that contained the mirror image of a whole other universe or remote region within our universe, incredibly shrunken and distorted." The ship would enter the wormhole at sublight speeds and reappear in a different location many light-years away. With a wormhole, the ship (or perhaps an exterior mechanism) would create a tunnel through spacetime, with a targeted entrance and exit. With a warp drive, space in front of the vessel is contracted while space behind it is expanded, creating a sort of wave that brings the vessel to its destination. The difference between the two is the way in which space is manipulated. The ship itself is never going faster than light with respect to the space immediately around it.ĭavis's paper examines the two principle theories for how to achieve faster-than-light travel: warp drives and wormholes. It's established that space is flexible in fact, space has been steadily expanding since the Big Bang.īy distorting the space around the ship instead of accelerating the ship itself, these theoretical warp drives would never break Einstein's special relativity rules. In current FTL theories, it's not the ship that's moving - space itself moves. However, some scientists believe that a loophole in this theory will someday allow humans to travel light-years in a matter of days. WARP 9.Before delving into Davis' study, here's a quick review of faster-than-light space travel:Īccording to Einstein's theory of special relativity, an object with mass cannot go as fast or faster than the speed of light. You can use Warp Speeds in calculating the time to travel from Earth to parts of the galaxy by clicking ASTRO TRAVEL TIME. However, it is a useful (exponential) scale for measuring speed in relationship to astronomical distances, and works well with the limitations of traveling within one quadrant of the galaxy. The Warp Speed formula is based on the fictional series Star Trek. C is the speed of light: 186,000 miles per second. The formula for velocity from warp speed is as follows: Warp Speed is an exponential velocity scale. Velocity(V): The calculator returns the velocity associated with the warp speed in multiple units including: The Warp Speed calculator translates Warp Speed into common velocity units such as miles per hour. 1/25/2024 0 Comments Cibos menuIt’s clear to see why you are-and forever will be-one of Auckland’s fave restaurants.
